Grofun People & Planet is go go go

This week (8 - 14 Feb) is Go Green Week, People & Planet's national week of student action on climate change. Up and down the country young people will be organising events, launching practical projects to cut the carbon in their school, colleges and unis, and showing their love for the climate.

That's why today the P&P staff team launched its very own initiative to cut the organisation's carbon footprint. Some of the food-growing projects launched by our student network have been truly inspirational and we wanted to get our hands dirty too!  We've signed up for the 1010 challenge and aim to cut People & Planet's emissions by 10% in 2010.

Our starting point is Grofun. Our mission: to transform the sad, bramble-filled land behind our office into a useable and productive space for growing fresh, organic food. It's something that's been talked about for as long as I've been at P&P (back in 2005!) but today, we actually did it! New Year's resolution no. 8 - tick!

Here's a short video I made about our excellent first Grofun Action Day.
