I have to say I feel really proud of the job we've done over the last 2 months to completely revamp the Go Green campaign for schools and colleges. We've overhauled the look & feel of the campaign to bring it up to date, but more importantly we've redesigned the strategy so that it's simple, straight-forward and darnright appealing for young people to get involved in cutting the carbon in their schools and colleges - it just makes sense.
We also created a brand new video template so that each school or college who gets involved in the campaign will be able to star in their very own go green movie. They'll be able to use it as a campaign tool and memento of their awesome work to cut the carbon! The very first one has come in, from posh girls school Guilford High School for Girls.. and it seems to have gone down really well. Let's wait and see how it goes down in the diverse range of FE colleges and schools we work with - i'll keep you posted. A huge thanks to Richard Roaf for creating our first People & Planet interactive movie experience!
But I'm even prouder of the new materials we designed. I had a crack team of people working on these - huge thanks to Ellie, Becky and Alys, as well as Jamie. Check 'em out and please pass 'em on to anyone you know who's at school/college or works in one! There's an introductory action sheet, followed by 4 activity sheets aimed at cutting the carbon in key emissions areas - ie. from food & goods, energy, waste and transport.
